Today EAMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students joined over a thousand others from across the region at ECC Tech Wars! From mousetrap cars to robotics, skimmer cars, and bridge challenges, our students proudly represented our school while exploring innovative projects and ideas from other districts. It was a fantastic day of creativity, problem-solving, and inspiration—what a great opportunity to see future engineers, designers, and makers in action!

Latin Club participated in the New York Stage Junior Classical League Spring Certamen at Orchard Park High School this past Saturday, May 17th. The students competed against 150 students from around the state. We’d like to congratulate them all. They performed marvelously and more importantly, they represented our school district well. The results were as follows: Main Certamen Competition: 7th grade - Molly Hannon, Erica Schulz, Aliza Howe, and Vivian Fisher placed 2nd! 8th grade - Emma Spielman, Cameron Gregiore, Kelsey Trzeciak, and Felicity Everhart placed 1st! 8th grade - Owen Walker, Thatcher Belka, Isa Strzelec, and Leak Peck placed 2nd! 9th grade- Audrey Holtz and Olivia Flynn placed 1st! 10th grade-Jonas Trzeciak and Dewayne Black placed 1st! In the Oratory competition: Molly Hannon placed 3rd amongst 7th graders. Felicity Everhart and Kelsey Trzeciak placed 3rd amongst 8th graders and Emma Spielman placed 1st amongst 8th graders. Olivia Flynn placed 3rd and Audrey Holtz placed 2nd amongst 9th graders. Jonas Trzeciak placed 2nd amongst 10th graders. A busy weekend at East Aurora High School! A visit from Mercy Flight highlighting the importance of safety to our students, Pep Assembly Games: Pizza Box Knock Down, Dodge Ball, Tug of War and Musical Chairs…I think the juniors actually won this year! Another awesome job by my Spirit Club!🙌🏻 Prom at the Admiral, and then an amazing showing at Sheas Performing Arts! So proud of the EAHS Music Dept and Musical Cast, Crew and Directors! They took home first place in one of their nominations!!!! Outstanding Hair & Make-Up Design! Being nominated in our other categories including Best Overall is still very rewarding in itself. EAHS performed so well this weekend and we are so proud of them! #oneEA

This week in 7th grade Tech students finished their Device Stands and turned them in for display at the district Tech Fair and Art Show. The event will be held at the EAHS on Monday, May 19th from 5pm-7pm. This week students also started working in TinkerCAD 3D modeling in preparation for 3D printing. Next week some groups will be starting to build Robots and some groups will be building Skimmer Cars using a empty cereal box.
