🎃 Are you ready for Halloween? Our Middle School Technology class is! 👻

Students have been busy designing and building their own wooden Halloween decorations — from concept to final creation. They start with detailed sketches and measurements on paper, then bring their ideas to life using band saws and sanders to cut, shape, and smooth their designs.

Along the way, they’re gaining real-world skills in design thinking, precision measurement, tool safety, and problem solving — all while adding a little spooky spirit to the classroom!

Thanks to the East Aurora Educational Foundation’s “Utilizing Technology for Innovation and Design Thinking” grant, Mrs. Marcklinger and Mr. Terhune’s LEAP students are diving into creative problem-solving with Ozobots! 🤖

These tiny robots are helping students bring their ideas to life through the design process — from brainstorming and empathy to hands-on experimentation and coding.

We’re so grateful for the EAEF’s continued support of innovative classroom learning that inspires curiosity and critical thinking! 🌟

💙💛 What an incredible Homecoming Pep Rally for our Blue Devils! 🎉 Student MCs Max Bindig and Marissa Valvo kept the energy high and the crowd cheering all afternoon.

Highlights included:
🍕 A hilarious pool noodle fight between students and teachers—while balancing pizza boxes!
🏐 Team sports dances
🪑Musical Chairs
👑 Introducing our Homecoming Court members
🎓 A special senior class photo

And the celebration isn’t over! 🎺 Our Homecoming Parade kicks off at 1:30 PM from Hamlin Park and will make stops at both the Middle School and Parkdale. Followed by our Homecoming Football game tonight under the lights at 7pm. Don’t miss the fun—come show your Blue Devil pride! #oneEA

Some of our student leaders in the High School Unified Club made their way down to Parkdale Elementary yesterday for service learning day to partner with our kindergarten students and teach them about what it means to include. They participated in six stations that taught them about working together, including everyone, and embracing and celebrating differences. The team then left Parkdale and made their way down Main Street to talk to local businesses about the WNY Polar Plunge to advertise for our efforts in raising money for our local Special Olympics when some of our club takes the plunge in December.

In library class, Mrs. Bosela's class read Mr. S by Monica Arnaldo. Afterward, we emailed the author to find out the secret identity of the titular character, Mr. S! The Canadian author/illustrator not only replied, but sent us a cool, handmade sandwich greeting card. If you want to know Mr. S's real name, you'll have to read this book yourself!

💙 More moments from Service Learning Day! Our students continued to show what it means to care for others and give back. At St. Luke’s Mission, they helped prepare food for those in need, and at Knox Farm, they rolled up their sleeves to empty a building and lend a hand.

Our 12th and 11th grade students spent Service Learning Day lending a hand across WNY:
🏟️ Cleaning the stadium & painting tables at school
🐴 Helping at Knox Farm with barn cleanup & landscaping
🍎 Packing food at St. Luke’s Mission
🌱 Serving at the ROC (Rural Outreach Center)
🏠 Supporting the Ronald McDonald House with meal prep, cleaning, landscaping & organizing toys

And many more local entities!!

🍦 Today our 7th grade Latin students took their learning beyond the classroom! They enjoyed class on the Roycroft peristyle, where they studied its architecture in connection to the ancient Roman peristylium—all while enjoying ice cream! Afterwards, they strolled along the Appian Way to compare it to its historic namesake.
