Scroll through the District’s official Facebook, Instagram, or X feeds, and chances are you’ve already seen East Aurora through the lens of our students.

What started last year as a two-student pilot launched by Webmaster and Social Media Manager, Roxanne Perry has exploded into a full-fledged 10-student media crew. The mission was simple: hand students the mic, let them tell the EA story, and showcase campus life through their own eyes.

Armed with cameras, backstage access, and a signed Professional Standards Agreement, this team captures the pulse of our community, from classroom breakthroughs to packed gymnasiums, Friday night kickoffs, and weekend concerts. Between shoots, the crew meets bi-weekly for skills workshops, brainstorm sessions, and strategy huddles.

The real-world payoff is already happening. This week, crew members headed to Hamburg High School for Beyond the Bench: Careers in Sports Media & Technology. The keynote? Buffalo Bills play-by-play voice Chris Brown. The panel? Powerhouse media pros from the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits, Daemen University, and DICK'S Sporting Goods. Our students stepped right into the action, asking sharp questions and networking one-on-one with Brown and Katy Crawley, the Bills' Senior Director of Corporate Partner Marketing.

Whether these students turn sports media into a career or simply discover a new passion, they’re walking away with real-world skills, industry connections, and the creative confidence to chase whatever comes next.

The microphone has been handed off and East Aurora’s student creators are already sprinting with it. Keep your eyes on our feeds to see what they produce next.
