At East Aurora Union Free School District, our mission has always been rooted in a tradition of excellence while keeping a firm eye on the future of education—a spirit of innovation that has defined our community since the founding of the Roycroft campus. Recently, that long-standing commitment to forward-thinking leadership was spotlighted on a global stage.
Superintendent Brian Rus, two of our dedicated educators, Jeffrey Shelley and Ethan Hansen, and 12th grader Maya Reynolds were invited guests on the Achieving Joy and Mastery in Public Schools. The episode explores how East Aurora is leveraging old world skills to create more inclusive, engaging, and dynamic learning environments for our students.
During the conversation, the team discussed The Sustainable Agriculture Program. The discussion highlighted how our district remains a leader in the region, bridging the gap between traditional instruction and 21st-century skills.
"It was an honor to share the incredible work our teachers are doing every day," said Brian Russ. "Being featured on this platform is a testament to the hard work of our entire faculty and their dedication to ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing world."
Since our establishment in 1883, East Aurora has valued both history and progress. This podcast feature serves as a proud reminder that while our roots are deep, our reach is wide.
