NYSED welcome back

As the 2025–26 school year begins, New York State Education Department (NYSED) Commissioner Betty A. Rosa shared a warm and inspiring welcome back video with students, families, educators, and school communities across the state.

In her message, Commissioner Rosa expressed deep gratitude to teachers, staff, and school leaders for their continued dedication, while also recognizing the resilience and potential of New York’s students. She highlighted the importance of partnership — reminding us that when schools, families, and communities work together, students thrive.

Commissioner Rosa encouraged everyone to approach this year with optimism and collaboration, calling on families and community members to remain active partners in education. She also acknowledged the many opportunities ahead, emphasizing that a new school year is not just a beginning, but a chance to build stronger connections, foster growth, and celebrate the successes of every student.

“Education is a shared journey,” Commissioner Rosa noted. “Together, we can create welcoming, supportive, and inspiring learning environments where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.”
