The EA Rose

Mission Statement

The East Aurora School District will provide environments, experiences, materials and professional talents to help each student prepare to live in society as a contributing, self-fulfilling and caring citizen. The school will endeavor to develop, in each student, a lifelong desire for knowledge and the skills to acquire it. The school will promote learning in the context of common sense, hope for a better future and a deep respect for humanity.

Values and Visions

The EA Schools "Values Rose" embodies both who we are and who we are trying to become.  It serves both as the District's foundation and, at the same time, the North Star by which decisions are navigated.

Drawing from East Aurora's iconic Roycroft stylizing, the flower is first rooted in community; symbolizing that for any growth to occur, the school, the community, the students, and their parents must first be rooted in the notion that we are #oneEA.  Moving up the stem, the four leaves which 'feed' our District each begin with the concept of 'everyone'.  This makes clear that it takes each individual working to capture energy from the "aurora" to help the District most fully grow into a culture which Learns, Communicates, Respects and Improves.

The belief behind using the rose motif is that if we stay rooted in our community and absorb the values of Learning Excellence, Respectful Relationships, Effective Communication, and Continuous Improvement in all that we do, then a culture of Exploration, Innovation, Growth and Opportunity will bloom, releasing the fragrant bouquet of Excellence and Achievement on the District's students.

The Values Rose was developed over a series of meetings which included a wide cross-section of stakeholders.  It now serves as an essential part of the District's mindset, decision-making, interviewing, and decor.
