Technology Department Goals

Goals outlined here are the product of gathering input from all three Technology Committees, the District Technology Committee as well as insightful survey results that were input by our community members.  By reviewing the previous plan and comparing the Evidence of Completion column with what we know about the district’s current state of technology integration and service offerings, the Committees and Departments involved were easily able to identify both the previous plan’s successes and areas of improvement. 

A. Curriculum and Instruction
a. To provide students with the ability to become technologically literate so they may develop as lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and productive workers in our worldwide community.
b. New York State Learning Standard that aligns with goal:
Provide technology-enhanced, culturally- and linguistically - responsive environments to support improved teaching and learning.

B. Robust Infrastructure, Hardware and Software
a. To provide and maintain the technical infrastructure necessary to support all learning environments and provide equitable opportunities for all learners.
b. New York State Learning Standard that Aligns with Goal:
Design, implement, and sustain a robust, secure network to ensure sufficient, reliable high-speed connectivity for learners, educators, and leaders

C. Data Privacy and Security

a. To ensure that sound data privacy and security policies, procedures, and practices are in place at the district, school, classroom, and student levels, that student information is securely stored and student privacy rights are maintained.

Design, implement, and sustain a robust, secure network to ensure sufficient, reliable high-speed connectivity for learners, educators, and leaders

D. Communication and Collaboration
a. To use technology to improve administration, data management and communication throughout the school system as well as to improve communication between the school system and the community.

Provide technology-enhanced, culturally- and linguistically-responsive learning environments to support improved teaching and learning

E. Access
a. To provide adequate and equitable access to current instructional technology tools and resources for staff and students.
b. New York State Learning Standard that Aligns with Goal:
Increase equitable access to high-quality digital resources and standards-based, technology-rich learning experiences
