The 2023-24 school year is off to a fantastic start full of engagement and excitement at East Aurora Middle School. While we are still in the early stages of the school year, there is a lot happening at 430 Main Street each and every day.

This year, East Aurora Middle School has taken a giant stride forward in student and family involvement. In early October, the EAMS PTO sponsored the first annual ‘Family Fall Social’. The event was held on a perfect night in the backyard of the Middle School, the hub of East Aurora. There were multiple food trucks, carnival games, a rocket expert helping students create straw rockets to launch, yard games, and live music on hand. Students and families had a great time playing, dancing, and talking with each other, which will hopefully create connections that will last for years to come. An estimated 250 people attended the event, all leaving with a smile.

Clubs and extracurricular opportunities for students have also been a focus for the 2023–24 school year. Some recently added clubs at the middle school include The Unified Club, The Book Club, Dungeons and Dragons Club, and the soon-to-be-launched Video Announcements Club. All in all, East Aurora Middle School now offers 25 clubs that provide students with opportunities no matter where their interests lie. We take pride in offering students a diverse tapestry of experiences. Clubs are a great way to meet new friends and explore opportunities that don’t always take place during the school day.

This year, once again, the Student Council is our largest and most well-attended club. Typically, every other year, Student Council members are invited to take a trip in the spring. Due to the success and excitement of last year's trip to Washington, DC, students inquired about taking another trip this year rather than taking the year off. We have decided that our student council will visit Boston in April 2024. Currently, 36 students from grades 5 through 8 have signed up to go. It is an experience like no other, and we look forward to providing this incredible opportunity for our students.

The East Aurora Middle School’s faculty and staff are the unsung heroes of our thriving school. Their dedication to the success and well-being of every student is evident in their tireless efforts and genuine care. They inspire love for learning, encouraging students to be inquisitive, explore new horizons, and challenge themselves academically and personally. At the middle school, we focus on making sure all students feel at home. Our diversity is not only celebrated but embraced, creating an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and appreciated.

As you can see, the middle school has had a very busy start to the school year. We are excited about this fall's positive momentum. As always, we are thankful for and appreciate all of our supportive parents and the EA community.
