Signs That Your Child May Have Speech and/or Language Difficulties
Your child could require speech and language support if:
He/she began speaking later than expected
Performing below expectations in the classroom
Trouble following directions and/or understanding others
Trouble expressing thoughts, feelings and ideas
Trouble with learning to read and write
Listeners have trouble understanding the child’s speech
Your child may avoid communication or misunderstand social cues
Your child may become frustrated during communication exchanges
If you are concerned that your child may have speech and/or language difficulties you are encouraged to talk to your child’s teacher to see if he/she is noticing any of the same concerns. Additionally, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our SLP’s to gain more information!
