Completed applications are accepted beginning 30 days before the deadline. Email completed applications to KHeckman@eak12.org.

Please be aware that the East Aurora School District participates in the Athletic Placement Process offered by New York State designed to place exceptional athletes at an appropriate level. This program allows 7th and 8th grade students who excel in sport specific skill, physical fitness and maturity to try out for a j.v. or varsity team.

In the past, EA has had students who have completed this process and went on to be New York State Champions, All-Western NY and/or set EAHS records. These students had a great deal of sport specific skill as proven by previous play in modified sports, town youth leagues or input from EA physical education teachers. This program is not designed to fill empty slots on a team, take the place of a modified team that does not exist, or simply as a supervised place for a good child.

If your child meets the criteria stated above and is interested in attempting to complete this process, please have him/her pick up an application from the middle school health office or download the form via the link above. The application must be completed and returned to the athletic office by the season deadlines stated above. 

Upon receipt of an application and approval from the athletic office, your child will be scheduled for a medical review by our school doctor and nurse. If medical approval is received, your child will proceed to the physical fitness tests administered by the physical education faculty. This must be done by a certified physical education teacher who is NOT a coach of the sport for which the student will be trying out.  The student must meet the 85th percentile level for their age in 4 out of 5 test components. If your child successfully passes the medical and physical testing phases of the APP, approval will be granted to try out at the desired sport and level. 

Students who have previously been approved in the Athletic Placement Process for any sport, in any season, must still submit an application.
