State Foundation Aid Survey
EAST AURORA UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Brian D. Russ
Superintendent of Schools
EA Parents and Community Partners –
This year, East Aurora Schools has received an approximately $1,000,000 increase in their State Foundation Aid. The District wants to collaborate with the community on how this increase in regular funding should be best spent. While there are restrictions on what this money can be used for, the categories listed below are acceptable uses.
As such, on the following survey we are asking you to individually rate how important it is to you that the funding is spent to address the following needs:
Providing additional PreK-8 academic supports to students who are at risk of not meeting learning standards in core academic areas
Further developing our HS offerings with the focus of increasing student engagement, eliminating achievement gaps, and increasing graduation rates
Investing in resources for students with disabilities and/or those experiencing some social disadvantage (poverty, homelessness, English Language Learners, etc.)
Addressing student mental, emotional and social health through investments in staffing, resources, and programs
We also have left a space for other thoughts and ideas. We are eager to hear these thoughts but please recall that the funding may not be able to be used for all purposes.
The link to this brief (< 3 minute) survey can be found here:
and will remain open through 11:59pm on Tuesday, June 21.
The administrative staff will use your input in these areas to help focus their decision-making in making recommendations to the Board of Education. As decisions are made regarding the use of these funds it will be part of the District’s financial reportings. Thank you in advance for your participation!
Your Partner in Education,
P.S. Please remember that the following Erie 2 BOCES regional needs assessment surveys are still open and will remain so through June 30th. We’d greatly appreciate your participation in this as well!
