Welcome to AIS:
Academic Intervention Services
I have been an ELA teacher in the district since 2003 and in 2016 I switched over to Academic Intervention Services (AIS). In New York State, AIS is offered throughout each district in grades K-12 to help students achieve the state learning standards in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science, while working to improve literacy in all areas.
These services include two components:
1. Additional instruction that supplements the general curriculum (regular classroom instruction) and/or
2. Student support services needed to address barriers to improve academic performance
Since 2016 I have taught in the AIS classroom where students have AIS scheduled as a separate class during their day. Starting this upcoming school year, 2021-2022, I will be moving into a new role with AIS where I am going to be "pushing-in" to several ELA and Social Studies classrooms to directly assist AIS students during their classes. More information on this can be found on the left side bar under "AIS Information."
Please feel free to contact me anytime. Email (firstname.lastname@example.org) usually is the easiest way to communicate, however, you may reach me by phone as well at the High School until 3:00 (687-2500). My office is now located in room B209.
