Let me tell you a bit about myself! I grew up right here in East Aurora and even attended Parkdale Elementary through second grade. I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at D'Youville College and my masters degree in Elementary Education from the University at Buffalo.
I started teaching at Parkdale Elementary in the year 2000. During my first six years of teaching, I taught kindergarten, first, and second grades. I enjoyed them all! I definitely consider myself an elementary teacher as I truly love working with children.
In 2006, my daughter Mary was born, and I decided to take a one-year leave of absence. Well, that turned into two years, and then my son Patrick was born in 2008. After that, I took two more years off to stay home before returning to Parkdale in 2010. I taught first grade for two years, then I returned to kindergarten for six years. Although I loved teaching kindergarten, I came to a point where I was ready for a big change, so I requested a move to fourth grade. This will be my third year teaching fourth grade, and I just love working with older children! I genuinely look forward to seeing my students each day and observing their progress!
My family and I enjoy living in the village of East Aurora and taking advantage of all the wonderful things the village has to offer for a family with children. You may see us out walking around town which we like to do often. We enjoy visiting the Farmers' Market, Main Street, as well as the Co-op and the Elm Street Bakery:) I love to run into both current as well as former students and their families...many of my former students have graduated from college already-yikes! I really enjoy watching the children grow up and witnessing their many accomplishments as they progress through the grades. I am always so proud of them! It is a terrific benefit of teaching and living in the same town.
I look forward to a wonderful year working with you and your children. Please feel free to contact me about anything at any time!
