    VIRTUAL COLLEGE ADVISOR VISITS

Traditionally during the fall months, the East Aurora High School invites numerous colleges locally and through the United States to visit the high school during school hours to meet with students to introduce their college and answer any questions that the students might have.  This is a  wonderful opportunity for students to begin their college search.  Due to Social Distancing restraints, many of the colleges have opted for Virtual College Visits for the 2020-2021 academic school year. Below please find websites to resources colleges would like to share with upcoming graduates.

*** Please continue to frequent this website as changes and additions are submitted regularly.

      Virtual Fall Open Houses

Although we’ll miss hosting our traditional fall open house, we have planned two weeks of fun-filled, informative virtual open houses: Oct. 11-17 and Nov. 8-14 (both weeks’ sessions are identical). To accommodate busy schedules, we’ve spaced the sessions out over a week so students can attend as many sessions that are relevant to them! Please encourage your students to register online.

CANISIUS COLLEGE -  www.canisius.edu/visit is the best way for students to see all upcoming visits to campus both in-person opportunities and virtual ones. We are also offering our Visit and Apply Grant Opportunity again this year for incoming freshmen.  If they Visit (in person or virtually) and Apply to Canisius by December 1st they will be eligible for a $2,000 Visit and Apply for Grant.  We are welcoming students back to campus and have weekday campus visit opportunities where students can have an individualized meeting with an Admissions Counselor and a campus tour registration can be found at this link, https://admissions.canisius.edu/portal/weekdayvisits.  Students can also make Remote Meeting Appointments with their Admissions Counselor (me) and can sign up at this link https://admissions.canisius.edu/portal/InterviewRachel.

CARLOW UNIVERSITY -  If students are interested in visiting campus, they can schedule so here - https://admissions.carlow.edu/portal/visit. We are also hoping to host many different virtual events covering financial aid, athletics, student life, and individual academic programs. Our website with registrations for those events will be posted under the Admissions and Aid > Tours and Visiting tab of our website, www.carlow.edu.

On behalf of the Office of Admissions at Carlow University, we hope that you are staying safe, healthy, and enjoying the start of your academic year. Although this year looks very different for all of us, Carlow University is still offering many opportunities for high school students to connect with our campus and learn more about our academic offerings. Attached is a calendar of events we hope that you will enjoy. These events highlight our academic departments, student life, financial aid, and so much more!    Carlow Admissions Virtual Events

1.)   Test Optional for all majors

    -       In the past a student was eligible to apply test optional for majors that were not health care majors, and a student had to have above an 86 weighted cumulative GPA. Those restrictions will be lifted for all students applying for Fall 2021.

    2.)   Early Decision

    -       Deadline: November 2nd, 2020

    -       All majors can apply Early Decision

    -       Daemen Tuition Guarantee for Early Decision applicants: A scholarship will be given for the four years of undergraduate tuition that will offset the rise of any tuition costs.

    -       For our selective majors there was a higher acceptance rate across all majors compared to Rolling Admissions/Priority Deadline

3.)   Priority Deadline for Physician Assistant and Nursing with Erie Community College as the partner school

    -       Deadline: November 20th, 2020

    -       We only accepted a handful of students after this deadline last year into these two programs

4.)   Rolling Admissions for all other majors and partner schools for Nursing

    -       First admission decisions will be released in mid-November

     .

GANNON UNIVERSITY -  We currently at Gannon are offering a multitude of different options to prospective students.  They can all be found at www.gannon.edu/visit  To give a rundown: we have on campus admissions conversations and campus tours available between 9:00am-2:30pm, Monday – Friday and on select Saturdays.  We have virtual admissions appointment times everyday and also on Saturdays (these are fully virtual experiences);  Instead of having a virtual Open House this fall we are having virtual program information sessions all fall long, these are opportunities to talk to faculty from programs across campus.   We encourage students to do what best fits their needs, so if a student can not find a specific time or has questions about visits they can contact me.  My email is kujan001@gannon.edu and my cell phone # is 814-983-1536.
