• Planning Underway for Educational Foundation's 2018 Celebration Event

The East Aurora Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was inspired by Dr. James Ford and established in 1988 to benefit the faculty and students of the East Aurora schools by enriching the curriculum.  Managed by a volunteer board of directors, the foundation is a separate and independent organization from the East Aurora Union Free School District.

The East Aurora Educational Foundation relies on donations and community support to fulfill its mission: to enhance the educational experience of students in the East Aurora Union Free School District.

  • The East Aurora Educational Foundation has partnered with the East Aurora Union Free School District to recognize outstanding graduates of East Aurora High School. Since in 2017, Aurora High School Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Awards are be given annually to up to five graduates whose achievements, service and strength of character serve as role models to inspire and challenge current students. Award recipients have achieved excellence and made significant contributions to their profession or community.

The Foundation has now provided over $700,000 in grants since its founding. Our grants finance educational opportunities outside the scope of the school operating budget and target areas such as innovation in curriculum and instruction.

The East Aurora Educational Foundation also administers The Marie West Keller Memorial Scholarship, established in 2009 by her husband Ed to honor his wife Marie. A teacher in the East Aurora School District for 41 years, Marie also served on the East Aurora School Board from 1973-1979. She was a devoted teacher, loyal to her community and passionately committed to her students. This scholarship serves as a lasting tribute to Marie, honors her love for her students, and supports their continuing education. The Scholarship application, along with the requested supporting documentation outlined on the application, is available at the Counseling Center at East Aurora High School.

The East Aurora Educational Foundation is supported by contributions from alumni, residents and area businesses. The Foundation' s donors help shape our community, region, and world. Alumni, families, individuals, businesses and groups have the opportunity to make their hopes for our children and community become a reality. This is philanthropy at its local, focused, collective best!
