The CSE is an interdisciplinary team, appointed by the Board of Education. The Committee has the responsibility of identifying and recommending appropriate programs for all students needing special education services. The Committee includes a psychologist, physician, special education teacher, regular education teacher, school administrator and a parent of a special education child.

The philosophy of the Committee is to:

• identify students in need of services as early as possible,
• place them in the least restrictive (most normal) environment in which they can experience success,
• return students to a regular education program as soon as possible.
