There are many places to access free ebooks online.
For pleasure or research, ebooks are handy and easy to use.
 
Most free ebooks are out in the public domain, so are pre-1923. These are most useful when reading the classics or when conducting research where looking into the past at original source material is a good choice.
 
For more recent ebooks, consider making use of the public library's collection in Downloads 2 Go.
 
For this, you will need to download the EPUB software to your home computer, Adobe Digital Editions. Follow onscreen instructions. Or, if you have a compatible mobile device, Overdrive has now developed several apps for use on a portable mobile device like an iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone. Digital Rights Management software will automatically delete materials from your computer or mobile device when you have reached the return date, so no worry about late fees or overdue materials!
 
eBooks that are available through the high school do not at this time require additional software and can be opened through the browser window, following the instructions on the online catalog screen.
