Seniors....Time To Make Decisions

College bound seniors please be sure to continue exploring career and college opportunities! You should plan to visit colleges of interest over the summer since the application process occurs in the Fall of senior year.

Career bound seniors please be sure to do your best this year in school. It is a good idea to speak with your teachers and school counselor about the field that you are planning to enter.

Military bound seniors please be sure to contact the appropriate military recruiter and do your best this year in school.

All students should plan to submit a resume to their school counselor so that we can be aware of all your achievements. This is especially important when we write a recommendation to colleges, employers or for scholarships!!

In September we will meet with each senior individually for the Senior Review. The purpose of the meeting is to review graduation requirements, college and career information and the college application process and deadlines. Class rank will also be shared with students at this time.

College Admission Testing

Last year, we recommended that students take the PSAT in the Fall of their junior year. All students planning to attend a four year college or university should have taken either the SAT I or the ACT in the Spring of their junior year.

SAT II's
(Subject Tests) are required by certain colleges. Students should check the requirements of the colleges or universities to which they are applying. In the Fall of the senior year, students can re-take one or both tests to increase their chances of college admissions and scholarship money.

The first SAT test is held in October and will be held at EAHS.  East Aurora High School will also be offering the May administration. Please follow the link to see registration deadlines, registration information, additional test dates and information on SAT testing at www.collegeboard.org . If you are unable to register online, registration packets and fee waivers are available in the counseling center.

The first ACT test is held in September and will be held at EAHS.  East Aurora High School will also be offering the June administration.  Please follow the link to see registration deadlines, registration, additional test dates and information on ACT testing at www.actstudent.org. If you are unable to register online, registration packets and fee waivers are available in the counseling center.

Reporting Test Scores

Students, it is your responsibility to have your test scores sent from the testing agency to the colleges to which you are applying. During test registration, you can request this.

The test center will also send the East Aurora High School Counseling Center the scores, which will be included on the East Aurora High School transcript. Many colleges accept the scores in this manner. If a college requests scores sent directly from the testing agency and the test scores were not requested at registration time, you can call or go online to request that they be sent.
