Mrs. Laben's Profile

Born:  I was born and raised in New York State's Hudson Valley.

Education:  B.S. in Elementary Education  SUC@Geneseo
                 M.L.S. University@ Buffalo

Career:  I have worked in public, college, and school libraries.  My very first job, when I

was a high school student, was working in the Julia L. Butterfield Memorial

Library.  I am very fortunate that my career combines my greatest interests,

which are children, books, and reading.

Hobbies:  Besides reading, my favorite hobbies are bird-watching and gardening.  I am
also a long-suffering fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres.

Family:  My husband and I are the proud parents of seven children ranging in age from
17 to 33.  We are the proud grandparents of a one year old grandson, Clark Peter!

Miscellaneous Facts:  My family includes two dogs, four cats, and assorted other pets
                                including a goat named Folger.
I love playing Scrabble, and I try to complete an online crossword
                                puzzle every evening.

Books I Read This Summer:  I reread the first four books in the George R. R. Martin series A Song of Ice and Fire.  I am  now reading the fifth book in the series, A Dance With Dragons.  I have also been trying to teach myself to knit, with limited success, following directions from a book.
