Expressive Language*

Expressive language disorder affects communication of thoughts using both spoken and written language.  This disorder involves difficulty with the language processing centers of the brain.

The following checklist will help you to determine if your child has expressive language difficulties:

  • the formulation of thoughts and ideas
  • difficulty with language processing and the connection between words and ideas they represent
  • Some children may also have problems with the pronunciation of words
